Hi there. We are so happy that you are curious about Art Rapids. Our mission is to enhance and promote the arts and arts education in the Elk Rapids area.

Actively supporting the arts in Elk Rapids, Michigan, Art Rapids is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 by a group of arts-minded citizens to organize a juried art fair which occurred for many years in Veteran’s Memorial Park.

In 2017 and 2018, it became Experience Art Rapids, a 14-day community wide juried art exhibit located throughout Elk Rapids in 35 business venues featuring 125 artists from near and far. We honored 10 artists with a total of $7000 in cash prize awards.

Currently, we organize artful community Experiences such as free concerts in the Walk of Art Sculpture Park each July, film festivals, summer art camps for kids, art exhibitions and so much more.

Art Rapids fulfills its mission thru the following outreach programs:

• Scholarships for middle school and high school undergraduates for advanced arts instruction

• Grants to teachers, schools, area residents and groups for arts-related projects and activities

• Community arts events and partnerships

• Art camps and classes for children and adults

• Gifts of art and concerts to the community

• The Walk of Art outdoor sculpture exhibit
